ALL RETREATS BEGIN AT ST. LUKE THE EVANGELIST ON THURSDAY EVENING AND ENDS SUNDAY AT 11:00AM MASS, WITH A RECEPTION FOLLOWING IN THE FLC
ACTS is an acronym for: Adoration, Community, Theology and Service. It is a parish based retreat and ministry. The retreat’s goals are to strengthen our faith and its application in our daily life, to renew ourselves spiritually and to build strong lasting friendships. Lay Catholic women present the ACTS Retreat with support provided by a spiritual director and clergy.
Please join us for an extraordinary weekend which will begin Thursday evening with check-in at 4:45 p.m. in the Family Life Center with departure at 5:15 p.m. Transportation to and from Our Lady of Hope Retreat Center will be provided. The retreat will conclude on Sunday morning at the 11:00 a.m. St. Luke Parish Mass. A reception and celebration will follow Mass in the Family Life Center, to which your family is invited!
A registration fee of $100.00 made payable to St. Luke the Evangelist Church submitted with this form, will reserve your place. The remaining balance of $250.00 will be due on the Thursday evening check-in. (The actual cost is $375.00 per retreatant; but St. Luke is offering to cover the additional $25.)
Please Note: Financial difficulties should not prevent anyone from attending the retreat. If you have financial concerns, arrangements can be made by contacting Fr. Jared Rodrigue or Jeannie Callaway at: [email protected], 985-641-6429.
You will receive a letter 7 to 10 days prior to the retreat describing the necessities you should bring with you. I don’t have a particular miracle story. But I feel a peace that I haven’t felt in a while. I took the time to “Be still” and have not had as high of stress levels and have been more joyful. I experienced an explosion of God’s abundant love and graces. I was so excited to go on a retreat with so many women I love and feel so loved by and accepted to be the person God has created me to be. There was a lot of freedom in knowing that before I even came that I could be myself completely. While on the retreat, I enjoyed the intentionality behind every single moment the thought, the meaning, and the PRAYER! I love it when Jesus surprises me, so to be in days that were filled with it each moment by moment was incredibly impactful. It’s only the beginning of unpacking all of the beautiful graces from this weekend; yet, the chains of brokenness that were unlocked through only God’s mercy and healing power will have a lifelong impact on my life. There is power in forgiveness. It is a complete GIFT that I was able to be on this retreat with women of all ages who love the Lord - I truly loved every moment and every conversation - it was a gift! I've been a parishioner of St Luke's for 28 years. I always felt comfortable in my parish, but attending ACTS retreat brought a greater sense of belonging and friendships that I hope will continue to grow beyond the retreat. Sharing stories and struggles in small groups fosters solidarity and support. I realized that I am not alone and that others carry similar crosses. The retreat provides a safe space for introspection and healing from life's wounds, guided by the Holy Spirit. Participating in the ACTS retreat gave me a renewed sense of community and purpose. It was unlike any other retreat I've ever been on. I was nervous at first, but as soon as I got there, that fear somehow went away. I felt this comfort knowing that the team had been praying and planning for me (and the others). As the weekend progressed, I was reminded of my worth and that I am not alone in this walk of faith. Participating in this ACTS retreat he showed me how much God loves me. Me, the little short lady from Slidell, who loves to help His people. He reminded me in a very intimate way, that He knows me and hears my daily prayers and sees my pain.
