Congratulations on your Little One!
Children are certainly a blessing from God, and we thank you for your openness to this new little blessing. We thank you, also, for choosing to have your child baptized at Saint Luke the Evangelist Catholic Church.
The sacrament of Baptism is one of three sacraments of initiation in the Catholic Church – the others are Eucharist and Confirmation. Although every sacrament offers us the opportunity to encounter God in a profound way, Baptism holds a special place in the Church, because Baptism is the door that leads to every other sacrament. Through Baptism, your child will be claimed for Christ and will become a member of the Body of Christ, the Church!
We know you look forward to bringing your child for Baptism, and we know that the Church eagerly awaits a new member. Before we proceed, however, there are a few things to be addressed.
BAPTISMAL INFORMATION PACKET
Included in the link below are the necessary FILLABLE ONLINE forms that need to be provided by you:- An information form (Please print clearly)
- A Parent testimonial form
- A Godparent form (before asking someone to be a godparent, please make sure they meet the criteria)
All forms can be returned to our Blaze Coordinator, Teresa Hidalgo, via hard copy in the church office or by email If you have any questions, Teresa can also be contacted at 985-641-6429 ext. 210. We cannot schedule the Baptism until we receive your completed Packet.
Baptisms are offered every Sunday after the 11 a.m. Mass at Saint Luke.
If this is the first Baptism of a child in your family, you will need to attend a Baptismal Seminar to learn how important you are to your child's growth in the Faith and the responsibilities of his or her godparents.
You can register to attend a Baptismal Seminar in the small form below. It includes all the available dates. Please note that we do not schedule Baptismal Seminars in the month of April because of Holy Week.
